Joann｜ウィリーズ英語塾

"Hi! Welcome to Willies English! You can call me Teacher Joann. I live in Cebu, Philippines. I am a Licensed Professional Teacher with a specialization in teaching English. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with Latin Honors from one of the best universities in Cebu, the University of Cebu – Banilad Campus.

I have been an English enthusiast since high school. That was when I decided to become an English teacher. I widened my horizons in English by joining English clubs and campus publications and eventually became a president and Editor-in-Chief in those endeavors. I also joined and won several speaking and writing competitions and experienced writing and directing theatre plays. I am excited to share my learning in these experiences with my students.

Moreover, I am deeply interested in teaching English because it does not only help people in overcoming language barriers and exploring more career opportunities but also promotes a better understanding of societal differences across countries. I love that my job offers me opportunities to impart my knowledge to English-language learners and connect with various cultures that shape my principles as an educator and a human being. Teaching had become more meaningful to me when I realized that I am not just teaching, I am also inspiring and empowering students, and most of all, my students also have the same impact on me - making me a better teacher.

So, with all my experiences and years of honing my teaching skills, I can guarantee my students that the journey of learning English would be a fruitful one. I am one with the goals of my students. I will stay throughout the journey as a teacher and as a friend. It would be a great privilege to be embarked on a worthwhile journey of learning English.
